ABOUT ME
Rex (Yu Kit) Tse, MA, LPC
I know that relational struggle can sometimes feel like life and death, overwhelming, and demoralizing.
As a child, I remember the time when there was violence in the house. Growing up in a volatile and highly criticizing family, I was familiar with the feeling of unloved, unneeded, disgust, and shame. I was so disconnected from the world, kindness felt numb, physical touch feels painful, and emotions were blocked away.
I am also familiar with the feeling of being stuck in repeating patterns such as attracting the wrong people or relying on unhealthy ways to cope. Therefore, I firmly believe in a healing approach that requires kindness and empathy to all parts of our being, with constructive feedback not to shame or criticize but to encourage growth.
If you identified with any of my experiences, you are not alone. I am here for you for offering my understanding and my skill to support you on your journey of healing the past and bravely stepping into a better future.
Rex’s Clinical Background:
I have worked from an eclectic* and relational approach with domestic violence survivors and individuals with attachment trauma. Having trained at Naropa University and worked in domestic violence advocacy, he strives to be multiculturally sensitive, strength-based, and client-centered.
I approach depression, anxiety, and emotional crisis with compassion and acceptance. With experience in the social justice scope, I bring the complexities of culture, systems, and identities into personal relationship impacts.
Fundamentally, finding ease in relationships takes kindness and understanding. It is possible for any of us to find the wellness we are seeking. I welcome anyone who wants to deepen relationships with self and others.
